We all know that activated carbon filter cartridges can purify the air, so many people buy them. However, due to the large number of manufacturers of activated carbon filter cartridges on the market and the uneven quality of products, we need to test them when purchasing to ensure that the activated carbon filter cartridges we buy can play their due role. So, what are some good ways to test the effectiveness of activated carbon filter cartridges? Let me introduce them to you below. Activated carbon filter cartridge filtration efficiency detection method: Sodium flame method This detection method mainly originates from the UK, and it is currently the official standard in China.

Let's introduce them below.

Activated Carbon Filter Cartridge Filtration Efficiency Test Method: Sodium Flame Method

This test method mainly originated in the UK, and it is currently one of the standard test methods used in China. When using the sodium flame method to test the filtration efficiency of activated carbon filter cartridges, sodium chloride salt spray is usually used as the test substance. The concentration of salt spray in the air is judged according to the color of the salt spray combustion, and then the filtration efficiency of the activated carbon filter cartridge is further determined. During the test, we will find that the salt water will splash due to the stirring of compressed air, and after drying, it will form particles that enter the activated carbon filter cartridge with the air.

Activated Carbon Filter Cartridge Filtration Efficiency Test Method: Oil Mist Method

This activated carbon filter cartridge filtration efficiency test method mainly comes from Germany, and China currently uses this method to measure the presence or absence of dust. The oil mist method mainly detects the air pollution level entering the activated carbon filter cartridge to judge the filtration efficiency of the activated carbon filter cartridge. Different companies have different methods for testing dust. In Germany, paraffin oil is usually used, while in China, the measured oil mist weight diameter is within 0.28~0.34 microns, and there are not many requirements for the type of oil mist.

Activated Carbon Filter Cartridge Filtration Efficiency Test Method: Particle Counting Method

This method should be the most familiar detection method for everyone and is the mainstream method for detecting the filtration efficiency of activated carbon filter cartridges. The test dust of this method is dispersed or some dust with fixed particle size, and a high-flow laser particle counter is used for measurement. If problems are found with the test dust during the measurement process, it must be dispersed immediately to ensure the normality of the measurement.

The above three methods for testing the quality of activated carbon filter cartridges are simple and feasible, and you can choose according to different situations.
